Loos & Co., Inc. Seismic Bracing Cable Products

Loos Seismic Bracing has numerous products which can be used to help with your seismic installations. The three products we want to focus on in today’s blog are bulk spools, sway bracing kits, and handswaging tools. Continue reading to get an in-depth look into each of these products offered at Loos Seismic Bracing.

Bulk Spools:

We offer four different types of bulk spools at Loos Seismic Bracing: G03-CBL Gold, OR4-CBL Orange, GR6-CBL Green, and BL8-CBL Black. These four spools are the main sizes you can get for seismic bracing applications. Each spool comes in 250ft. length, and each size has a different load rating. The smallest size (Gold), has a load rating of 418lbs. while our largest size (Black) has a load rating of 3,180lbs. We recommend using our bulk spools in combination with SAF and Loos zinc-plated oval sleeves. Doing so ensures that your brace connections are stronger than the cable itself.

Sway Bracing Kits:

Similar to our bulk spools, Loos Seismic Bracing sway bracing kits are available in four sizes: Gold Size 3, Orange Size 4, Green Size 6, and Black Size 8. Our bracing kits are available with two cables (2-way brace) or with four cables (4-way brace). We are able to make these kits to whatever custom length is required for your application because our bracing kits are not limited in length by the radius of gyration ratio as they act in tension only. We complete the kits with factory-installed stake eye fittings, and include zinc-plated oval sleeves for swaging to the loose end of your cables.Seismic Cable Sway Bracing Kits

Handswaging Tools:

We carry four different types of handswagers. Each swager is intended to be used for swaging a particular sleeve size. It is important to note that by using the correct tool and following all swaging instructions, you will guarantee cable connections that exceed the breaking strength of your cable. Some of our tools are made for one handed use and others are two-handed tools. To ensure your swager has a long service life be sure to keep all bolts tight, your swager properly adjusted, and regularly lubricate all moving parts.
